Seal Rocks to Lauriton

First stop of the day is Nabiac Motorcycle Museum. I know no-ones ever heard of it but it's surprisingly good and massive! Over 900 bikes many of them rare and collectors items plus the amout of memorablila is enormous. We spent hours there and I actually enjoyed it.

Then off to Lauriton where we're staying at Steve's sister's holiday place for a few nights. Always good to get a few free nights so we can spend more  money on fun things, like eating and drinking

Lauriton's famous breakwater.

Dunbogan beach which is opposite Steve's sister's place

Can you believe she even has a resident koala living in a tree in her back yard? This is the first koala I've seen outside a zoo.

On Saturday we took off on the Suzuki  firstly to the mountain behind Lauriton which has the best views then off to Port Macquarie, which is now like a mini Surfers Paradise. We checked out the lighthouse and a few beaches and got out of there as it was too busy. I heard Tony Abbott was in a triathalon there.

Then off to the hinterland on a great windy road straght up the mountain where we came across this absolute gem of a place called Colombyne. I thought I had been teleported to Ireland, it was sooo green and the rolling hills were divided by flowering wind breaks. It even had a cafe that served great coffee and tucker. ( very unusual in a backwater)

How cute is this for a club frontage?

That arvo back in Lauriton  the pub had a band playing, so we had a few beers then went back to the van to relax and meet the locals. The next few days were spent relaxing, walking, reading and trying to catch fish. Then  a storm hit Monday night so we played Rummytiles and Mastermind. How good's that??
