First Time Out

I was as excited as a teenager on her first date. I looked across at Steve, my husband of 28 years who was grinning away as we rolled out of our gates on our first trip in our little caravan.

Two weeks earlier we had made a snap decision and bought a Winston sixteen footer. We'd just finished kitting her out( must think of a name) when we thought we'd give her a trial run.

100ks down the road to Batemans Bay, first stop East Lynne for the best pie I've had in years.

The East Caravan Park is right on the river just before the bridge. Phillip, the non-stop talking park owner, directs SS in and proceeds to explain in 10 different ways how to reverse and line up the van. He finally leaves us to it and we setup , then take off to checkout the restaurants and cafes for dinner. Yes, my life does revolve around food!

Relaxing back at the Caravan park we go through all the extra things we will be needing.

I don't want to go into too much detail but needless to say that night we ended up at a local club for a chinese and to watch the mighty Bulldogs win. By the end of the night SS had to help me home as in my excitment I over indulged.

Awoke to a beautiful sunny, winters morning without too much of a hangover and went for a walk along the beach to blow away the cobwebs. Then for a drive down to Congo checking out all the places we want to stay at in summer. The South Coast has some of the best scenery and beaches. Roll on Summer!

Back home by 4pm and can't wait to go on a longer trip next time.

Check us out in a couple of weeks for the next instalment.
